Head of paddle sports at Plas Y Brenin, Ollie Sandeman reviews the Peak PS Storm Pants X4 Evo
So what's his go-to bit of kit from Peak PS? Well, of course, it has to be the Storm Pants X4 Evo. He goes on to say he has been wearing kit from Peak PS for a while and the Storm Pants are the one piece of kit he couldn't do without. He bought a pair years ago and they are still going strong, so much so that he actually lends them to people and his wife wears them when they head out on canoe trips together.
Constructed with heavyweight X4 recycled nylon and reinforced seat, knees and ankles, it is an essential feature when you spend a lot of time in your boat.
Ollie finds the Storm Pants a comfortable fit and says the articulated cut reduces the bunching up of material which becomes uncomfortable when kneeling on a thwart and especially when you're wearing kneepads over the top. It's a well-thought-out design by Peak PS and it's why they're his favourite.

Double waist design, heavyweight X4 inner waist with grippy flat elastic and adjustable shoulder straps with an Aquaout neo outer waist seal.
The Storm Pants X4 Evo feature a YKK waterproof front fly zip, a welcomed upgrade from the original edition. They also have fully taped socks and in combination with a good pair of wicking socks paired with some Peak PS neo socks over the top helped keep Ollie's feet warm during the colder Winter sessions.
Ollie practically lives in his Storm Pants X4 Evos until he's ready to put his head down for the night. He's put them through the extremes and states they always hold up and the added benefit of keeping the ticks at bay is a bonus during his visits to the Scottish wilderness.
It's great to find good quality kit that you can rely on, trip after trip and the Storm Pants X4 Evo are an essential during Ollie's adventures.
