Ortileb was founded back in 1982 by Harmut Ortileb in Germany. The first Ortileb bike panniers were created out of pure personal need for the waterproof equipment which just wasn't available that the time. The first hand-made products were tried and tested by Harmut and his friends, slowly constructing a story of success.
