5 reasons to start paddleboarding

We've seen the trend of paddleboarding come in waves over the last few years, with more and more people taking it up as their new watersports hobby (and for good reason).

If you still need that little bit of encouragement to get yourself out on the board this summer, here's our top 5 reasons why why can be beneficial to you.

1. Core strength and balance -

When paddleboarding, you engage your core through keeping yourself upright and balanced on the board. You are also engaging your arm, leg and back muscles to paddle and move yourself along the water.

2. Weight loss -

Watersports in general are all forms of exericse. You will be burning calories, building your stamina and building that lean muscle to overall tone your body.

3. Reduce stress and improve moods -

You will almost be forced to focus on the activity itself, so much so that you don't think of much else. This, in addition to the aid of the sedative natural environment around you, you will forget all your troubles and, at least for the time being. From being out in the sun, you will also be getting your vitamin D which has been shown to contibute to regulating moods and decreasing the risk of depression.

4. Low impact -

Unlike some other forms of exercise, paddleboarding is a relatively low impact sport, so you can care for your joints and reduce the risk of injury whilst still being able to exercise.

5. A new hobby -

Above all else, it provides a new hobby for you to learn and love and one that gets you outside where you can either spend more quality time with your friends/family or simply some quality time for yourself.

Hopefully this has given you that final push you needed to jump at this new hobby! Check out our range of paddleboards here, and remember to tag us in your adventures out on the water through our instagram.
