Why 5mm?

Fear of the cold water keeping you from diving in? Looks like you need a thicker wetsuit.

Wetsuit thickness
To put it simply, the thicker the wetsuit is, the warmer it wil keep you. The core of the suit will typically be the thickest part to keep you the warmest, with a lower thickness for flexbility in other connecting panels. For example, you may see the thickness of a winter suit at 5/3mm, with the 5mm being the core and the 3mm being the arms and legs. Typially, the thicker the wetsuit is, the less mobility you will get, which is why getting a blend of mm works well.

The perfect pair
If you're looking to get to know the waters in the UK winter, we also recommend getting some accessories to go with your wetsuit to ensure you're keeping as warm as possible so you can enjoy your venture for longer. Find yourself some 5mm neoprene boots and some thick 5mm gloves.
