What’s stopping you?
Now is a good a time as any to start to learn that new skill you’ve been dying to do for so long, and if that new skill involves picking up a board and getting in the water then maybe this can help you get started.
It can be a bit daunting to commit to buying all the equipment for a sport that you don’t even know you enjoy yet. Or maybe you know you enjoy it, but you just want to make sure you’re learning correctly and safely so that you can continue your journey with confidence. A great way to firm up your knowledge, or just test the waters, is by getting some lessons from qualified professionals.
There are plenty of surf and water sport schools around, but here’s 3 that we would recommend trying out.
Located at Rest Bay, Porthcawl Surf School offers SUP and surf courses and lessons for all ages and skill levels. Let this team of Water Sports Academy Qualified instructors guide you through your lesson and help you to build your confidence, ready for you to practice your new hobby further. You will not only gain practical knowledge on how to move with the water on your board, but you will also learn about beach safety so that you know when is best to tackle the waves. They even have a webcam on their website so you can check the conditions before heading out.
