5 Hot Tips For a Sendy Trip

5 Hot Tips For a Sendy Trip

Taking those trips of a lifetime to escape to a happy place is exciting, whether you are planning on a week away or even travelling for months at a time.

We always want to make the most of our adventures, so here are our top tips to keep you in fine form while you are out there sending it!

Sleep Well

Although pretty obvious, missing a few hours sleep constantly will bring you down so quickly.

Not having the time to allow your body to recover will effect your performance and inevitably make you grumpy.

A good night sleep is often difficult on remote trips so make sure to invest in this area!

Eat loads and Snack Often

At Escape Watersports we are all huge fans of food.

But on trips away eating the right foods is essential! Load up on carbs to keep energy levels high and proteins to enable your muscles to recover.

Just remember, your body is going to be working harder than normal so expect to fuel it more too!

Stretch

Don't miss that perfect barrel or take an awful line down a rapid because you were too stiff.

The days where yoga was only for old people have long gone and sport science is at its peak.

Take the time to keep everything free and loose during your trip to make the most of it. Especially if you are spending a long time travelling or sitting down (like kayaking!)

Rest and Hydrate

These two things go hand in hand. Although we may be on a limited time frame and not want to miss out, it's important we listen to our bodies.

Sometimes taking a day or a half-day off during a trip will benefit you in the long run.

Being able to recover on the go is awesome and will bring back all of your explosive power. Keeping hydrated is a massive part of being able to recover.

Take your mates

Having good people around you who pick you up when you are low is something no money can buy. Plan these trips with friends who love to share the stoke and who are on the same wave length.

Being motivated is sometimes difficult so surround yourself with the people who inspire you to be a better you!
